CBSE Practice Questions That Check Your Reasoning, Not Just Your Answer
SmartPrep CBSE practice sessions let students pick a subject, NCERT chapter and topic, answer a question, and say in a sentence why they chose it. SmartPrep then tells them whether the reasoning held up, not just whether the answer was right, so “right for the wrong reason” gets caught before the exam. A five-question daily warm-up brings back the topics each student is due to revise.
How it works
- 1
Pick what to practise
Choose a subject, then optionally an NCERT chapter and topic, or practise the whole book.
- 2
Answer, then say why
Before you see if you were right, write a sentence on why. Guessing is fine, just say so.
- 3
Get a verdict on your thinking
“Your thinking was right, the answer slipped”, “Right answer, but not for the right reason”, or “Here is the idea to fix”.
- 4
Defend it
A follow-up question checks that the idea really stuck, and your topic mastery updates.
What you get
Catches lucky guesses
Right answers you can’t explain are flagged, because those are the ones that fall apart in a board exam.
Daily warm-up
Five questions, about four minutes, chosen from the topics you are due to review (spaced repetition).
Mastery map
See your topics weakest first and tap one to practise it. A streak view shows the days you practised.
Finds the root cause
If a topic is hard because an earlier one is shaky, SmartPrep tells you which one to fix first.
Who it is for
- CBSE students preparing for unit tests and board exams
- Students who want to know what they really understand, not just their score
Good to know
- Available to students through their school’s SmartPrep plan.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best way to practise for CBSE exams online?
Practise by chapter and explain your answers. SmartPrep CBSE asks you why you chose each answer and checks whether that reasoning holds up, so you find the gaps that a score alone would hide. A daily five-question warm-up then brings weak topics back at the right time.
Does SmartPrep use spaced repetition?
Yes. The daily warm-up picks five questions from the topics each student is due to review, and the progress page lists topics coming up for revision.
